    • 3 cans whole peeled tomatoes, crushed
    • 140 g tomato puree
    • 60 ml extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for finishing
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
    • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
    • 1 large onion, minced
    • 2 tablespoons SPLENDA® Granulated

    Heat olive oil and butter over medium heat in a large pan. Add garlic and cook, stirring frequently until softened but not browned, this will take approximately 3 minutes. Add pepper flakes and oregano and cook, whilst stirring, until fragrant. Add the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer.


    Let the sauce simmer for approximately 40 minutes on low heat, until the sauce thickens and becomes a darker fragrant sauce.

    If desired, top the sauce off with extra olive oil before serving.
